I think it is great to have stronger opposition so that PAP will be more hardworking and work harder for the people. Singapore will benefit with more opposition in Parliament. With more opposition, there is less chance of us having to pay g.s.t. at 50% in the future

For me,
I think that we can still very much put our trust in PAP over any other opposition party. I have absolute trust in MM Lee and PM Lee and the team that they have built in all these years. I have no doubts that the PAP now will be able to run our country very well. Of course PAP is not perfect, there are many policies which may not be satisfactory to everybody. There is a saying in Chinese that goes like this: The medicine is bitter but it is good for the body. However unsatisfactory a policy is, I believe what the PAP does is for the sake of the people.

Even so, however trustworthy PAP is now, we cant predict what will happen in the future, in 20 years, 30 years, 40 years time. Well, as the opposition has pointed out, it appears that PAP is unintentionally building an impenetrable fortress... Of course, this fortress may be able to keep out the ill-intention people from getting into the government and thus harming our people, but it also serves as a barrier for us to get out of.

If I were to vote for the opposition, it would mean I want to have at least a backup plan just in case that happens. If, for some reason in fifty, hundred, or few hundred years time, the impenetrable fortress is built, and some ill-intention people got hold of control in PAP (im not saying it would, but theres a possibility) then nothing could be done. To prevent that from happening, I believe I would want a opposition party inside to keep PAP in check. Just so that if such a thing happened, there will still be a chance to save the situation.

Thus, i feel that having a stronger opposition is something that is good for the country.

I dare say that 60% or more of Singaporeans quality of life has deteriorate over the last five years. The ruling government talk about asset inflation is good for Singaporeans but how can this be so? Singaporeans can only benefit if they own 2 or more flats. Many middle and upper class Singaporeans bought HDB flats in the last few years while continue to own private property. The government did nothing until this year when they know that housing matter will become an issue during GE.

Sleeping on the job? Need opposition to wake them up?
