What is the chance of all GRCs being contested in Singapore General Election 2011?

SINGAPORE: The Reform Party said it is likely to contest Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's team at Ang Mo Kio GRC this General Election.

Party Secretary-General Kenneth Jeyaretnam said the Reform Party team for Ang Mo Kio could include - Mr Alex Tan and Mr Jay Ting - both of whom are on loan from the Singapore People's Party.

Opposition parties have said that they want to contest all 27 constituencies at the coming polls.

If that happens, it will be the first time all seats in a General Election are contested since Singapore's Independence.

The chance of all GRCs being contested appears to be very high. It seems that opposition parties smell blood on the street and would not want to waste this unprecedented opportunity to win some GRCs against PAP. Opposition parties must have done their own home work and ground work to the extent of co-operation of borrowing and loaning out their candidates to each other, giving and taking of Single Member Constituency and GRCs, that there appears to be only a few seats remaining of possible 3 ways corner fight against the PAP. Now why would they do that if not the ground is sweet for the opposition and chances of swing against PAP is pretty high?
