Use PAP funds to incentivise not public funds
On PAP's housing upgrading policy, PM Mr Lee said on Channel News Asia Forum
that the preference given to PAP wards represented an
incentive to vote for the ruling party.
Workers' Party Chairman Miss Sylvia Lim said ""We still think it's
immoral. If they want to incentivise voters, they can use PAP funds, not
public funds."

It has been many years and years of explanations by PAP that they have to
give preference to those PAP wards for housing upgrading policy and over the
many years too, Singaporeans are rejecting PAP explanation. Which is why
this issue never goes away, it always crop up again and again. One can
clearly see that on one side PAP trying very hard to convince people the
rationale of their explanation while on the other hand, moral, upright, fair
and just Singaporeans standing on the other side feeling indignant, unfair
and unjust that public funds are being used in such a manner to
differentiate PAP supporters and non-supporters. It is not as if
non-supporters can pay less tax or don't need to serve National Service. Where's the nation building
that PAP government leaders have cried out so often when PAP itself is
splitting the people apart? Will you compromise your sense of fairness,
integrity or your views to join PAP and be elected as an MP or will you turn
away and say I will not turn left or turn right from my path or views and
straight is my path?
What do you think? Is it fair or unfair? What are your views? |
