Parody of "Singapore too small to afford political paralysis: PM Lee"
Parody of "Singapore too small to afford political paralysis: PM Lee"

SINGAPORE, 22nd August 2011: Singaporeans who have been watching the recent stock market gyrations are keenly aware of the uncertainties in the world and the problems in America and Europe. And it's because of such uncertainties that Singaporeans stressed that the PAP government must work together with Singaporeans of all stripes to meet the challenges.

We must make sure that we get our economics right and our policies right. Singaporeans were heartened by the Prime Ministers pre-election acknowledgement that the PAP does not always get everything right, and they hope that he will engage with talented people, regardless of political affiliation, to work for sounder policies for the betterment of all Singaporeans. Since every citizen must play his role, concerned Singaporeans urged the PAP government to set the tone in allowing more people to contribute meaningfully.

Singaporeans have been very forthcoming with their suggestions and ideas, as a quick search online will attest, and they hope that the government will consider these carefully before dismissing them.

Singaporeans hope that the PAP government is aware that we are too small to be able to afford impasse and gridlock, to have two sides blocking one another. They also agree that there is a need to get Singapores politics right. Many Singaporeans do not feel that grassroots associations adopting policies which discriminate or favour particular parties are right or fair, and definitely not in the best interests of all Singaporeans.

Singaporeans called on the Prime Minister and the PAP to help build a robust and harmonious political system by ending such divisive policies which serve only to sow discord and disharmony amongst Singaporeans of different political affiliation. They urge the government to lead the way towards building true unity and social cohesion in order that we may face the difficult times ahead as one united nation.

Singaporeans hope that the PAP government will be able to think outside the box and adopt new and collaborative approaches in order to come up with better solutions to address the well-identified problems and make the country a true home for each and every Singaporean
