Over utilisation of freak election warning strategy by PAP?
SINGAPORE : Education Minister Ng Eng Hen has warned of a possible freak
result if Singaporeans vote the opposition into power in the coming
polls.
He said that the opposition must look to form an alternate government,
and not just offer alternative voices in Parliament.

By now even after warning the general public of freak election result
by PAP Education Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen, ground sentiments did not turn
around towards the PAP. 1 by 1, opposition parties are reporting the
ground is very sweet. Contrast "the ground is very sweet" observation
comment by NSP candidate Nichole Seah for Marine Parade GRC on 24 April
2011 with the latest "ground is less sweet" comment by Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan on the 23 April 2011. Will voters once again fall for
"freak election" warning type of strategy by PAP after hearing this type of
warning so many times during the past elections? What are the chances that
voters will fall for this type of strategy once again? Observers felt that
chances are slim that voters nowadays will fall for such warning strategy
cause voters nowadays are more educated, more discerning and more
questioning unlike the old batch of voters who were not that educated.
Actually, this warning type of strategy has been kind of over utilised over
the years to the effect that at this critical point like now when PAP really
needs such a strategy, this warning type of strategy fails to work its
magic, marginal effectiveness dropped so to speak. It can't be that shrewd
thinkers did not warn PAP about over utilising of such a warning type of
strategy. Very likely, PAP would have been warned of the danger of using
such a strategy repeatedly when such a strategy should be used sparingly and
when threat is real. Therefore why then are we still hearing the same old
warning type of strategy by PAP? Perhaps, PAP still think it will still work
its magic, that's why it is continuing this warning strategy. Do you feel
that this type of warning strategy has been over utilised by PAP? What do
voters think?
What are your views? Are you tired of same warning type of message from PAP? Are
you sure PAP got good ideas and can lead you and your children to a
better future? |
