Is Marine Parade GRC or Tanjong Pagar GRC as pro-PAP as thought to be?
One cannot but wonder above question in light of such overwhelming
negative comments against the PAP appearing online on so many websites.
Their barbs online are no hold bar, simply boiling mad anger and disgust
at PAP for whole range of reasons but mainly against PAP's demeaning and
degrading foreign talent policy that is increasing the arrogance of fake
foreign talents and demeaning of Singaporeans talents, resulting in
great influx of foreigners taking
away jobs from local Singaporeans, great influx of foreigners pushing
property and car prices up to unaffordable levels, great influx of
foreigners pushing Singaporeans out of transport system etc. The negative comments are so
overwhelming that easily 9 out 10 comments are against PAP.

Singaporeans who ventured online to seek discussion or views on
Singapore General Election 2011 are very often surprised that Straits
Times did not mention such a news and it clearly contrast what are
published on Straits Times Forum which is almost equal balance of
pro-PAP and opposition letters to ST Forum. To be fair, Straits Times
has done fair enough in this aspect to provide balance point of views
between pro-PAP and opposition supporters writing to Straits Times
Forum. With so many citizens venting their frustrations, unhappiness and anger
in cyber space, anti-PAP sentiments are rising with each passing day. Will
such unhappiness translate into more votes for opposition in pro-PAP wards
like Marine Parade GRC or Tanjong Pagar GRC in the event the opposition send
2 teams there to contest? Is Goh Chok Tong or Lee Kuan Yew so entrenched
that online unhappiness remains online and voters remain "too chicken" to
vote for opposition?
It is natural for observers to wonder if Marine Parade GRC or Tanjong
Pagar GRC are that pro-PAP as thought to be against a back drop of such
overwhelming negative comments online that one remarked the possibility of
civil disobedience should the opposition not win more than 2 seats in this
Singapore General Election 2011. Perhaps the only way to know is to send
teams there to give people a choice to show their unhappiness at PAP at the
election booth. Otherwise although tempting is the thought to conclude that
pro-PAP GRCs like Marine Parade and Tanjong Pagar can fall to the opposition
in view of such huge anti-PAP sentiments online, one can only be sure if
there is a contest otherwise at best it is just some postulation and
inferences without concrete evidence conclusion. It certainly would be
interesting and of clear service to the nation if Marine Parade and Tanjong
Pagar GRC are contested by opposition. Didn't the opposition say that they
come to serve the nation? Let's wait and see.
What are your views? Do you think that perhaps Marine Parade and Tanjong
Pagar GRCs are not as pro-PAP as thought to be? Do you agree with the view
that opposition should send 2 teams to contest both GRCs? |
